Witchy Woman...Lemme Cure That Ear!

Move Out Da Way, Modern Medicine...
That Ear Infection's Goin' Down!

OUUUCCCCCHHHHH!!!! I have been drinking and using only distilled water for the past 2 weeks and found out that this is also a body detoxification technique. Since the distillation process removes everything from our water, it will absorb toxins and inorganic minerals in our body and expel them.  As a result, our body flushes out toxins causing sickness as these toxins surface when leaving our body. I have noticed a lot of symptoms that are trying to take me out; for instance, I have shoulder and muscle aches, a left ear infection, swollen lymph nodes in my jaw and neck, headaches, and extreme tiredness...ain't gonna stop me though!

The Symptoms...

Two weeks ago, I woke up with a sore left shoulder and pain on the left side of my jaw. I thought that I had slept wrong and had a "stiff neck" and didn't really think anything of it. Over the course of the weekend, I felt super sleepy, had an on-going headache, which I NEVER get, and a killer ear infection...leaving me to my next assumption, what's up with me?!

I poured a quarter/half of a cap full of Apple Cider Vinegar in my ear over the next couple of days and consumed swigs, a few times per day, hoping that it will reduce any potential inflammation and symptoms. The pain/irritation did instantly feel better, but the symptoms would slowly come back...ARGGGHH! I was thinking about going to the doctor but couldn't let them win quite yet!

I love Eden Org. ACV

So, I decided it was time to do a little research and find out what was wrong and how to fix it! I found out that the majority of adult ear infections are actually viral, not bacteria infections, crazy huh?! So, what does that mean exactly? This means that the common treatment for ear infections, antibiotics weren't going to work.

I found out that Garlic has antiviral properties which means it has the ability to tame viruses and by making your own Garlic Olive Oil, you are able to use these as ear drops. The olive oil should be warm and is the carrier for the garlic and will not harm or hurt your ear. I made a garlic olive oil super quickly and have been pouring about 5-8 drops in my ear, a few times a day, and I couldn't be more happier! The pain subsides almost instantly and within 3 days, my ear felt better and the swelling in my jaw and neck had drastically decreased and was almost gone.

As the distilled water continues to detoxify my body, I will more than likely continue to experience these symptoms over the next couple of weeks...? So, I am continuing the Garlic Oil and Apple Cider Vinegar treatments until I feel "back to my old self" again! Next time you have an ear infection, don't run straight to your doctor, make some garlic oil!

How to Make Garlic Olive Oil...

  • Heat your Saucepan to low-medium heat
  • Add about an ounce of Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 2-3 portions of a bulb of Garlic
  • Heat for about 5 minutes. Your garlic oil will be ready when you are able to strongly smell your garlic, and it slightly browns.
  • Separate the oil from the minced garlic and pour the oil into a glass jar for storage.
  • Wait until your oil has slightly cooled and put that bad boy in yo ear, bro!

And, that's how YOU cure an Ear Infection!

I charge a comment Co-pay! Let me know how this goes for you and your loved ones!

Brunch, Beers, and Babes...

Sunday Funday...Fly Me To the Moon!

NC Was First In Beer Flight, Right?!

As an avid brunch and happy hour lover, Sunday Funday seems to fit the criteria of my idea of fun! So, I snagged my ol' roomie and headed out in search of a new GMO-free brunch place. We stumbled upon Zada Jane's Corner Cafe, and I am now obsessed! Oh, and did I mention their mimosas are da bommmbbb, and they serve breakfast all day?!

Need a recommendation??

I ordered the Amaretto French Toast with Grits and a Side o' Taters...YUMMMMM!

She's so happy...

After a couple of mimosas, we asked ourselves, "why stop while we're ahead?!" Soooooo, we challenged NoDa to BRING ON THE BEER, and WOW it listened! Like kids in a candy store, we were amazed to find that 2 of our favorite local breweries were in fact neighbors! And like a good neighbor, we decided to visit both...time to take flight!

First Flight, NoDa Brewing Company.

I love me some NoDa B brews! Flights are a great way to sample a variety of beers without gettin' super krunk. In addition to drinking, they have a running group that meets on Wednesdays around 6PM. I'm gonna hit that up soon for some running and beer action, my two loves! The brewery seems to be really down to earth and the staff were chill...the bartender picked out this great flight, YUM!

Zee Beer List:

  • Coco Loco
  • Jam Session Pale Ale
  • Ghost Hop
  • Hop, Drop 'n Roll

Second Flight, Birdsong Brewing Co.

Birdsong is absolutely beautiful stocked with a gorgeous patio filled with flowers, garden plants, and live music. I'll have to say, this place was more of my style...the people and staff were super friendly and inviting making it easy to take flight.

The Beer List:

  • Higher Ground IPA
  • Jalapeno IPA
  • Free Will Pale Ale
  • Up On The Sun Saison
*We both ordered the first two and changed up our last 2...I couldn't remember the 2 other beers that were in my flight, because I asked for her recommendations...ooopppsss?

And then, we got hungry again...

Last stop, Revolution Pizza & Ale House.

We figured a little Revolution Pizza would soak up the brews and resulted in the final Sunday Funday decision! Unfortunately, my phone had died by this point...so, I can't show our yummy pizza-BOO! I suggest scanning their menu for my favorite pizza, The "Fun Guy" loaded with Mushrooms and Jalapenos. It's the best!

Another Sunday Funday Complete! Have a Suggestion?! I wanna know it!
